The end of the World War Two. Tadeusz (starring Marcin Dorociński) – a former officer in the Polish Home Army who survived the Warsaw uprising – in order to inform a friend’s wife about his death – ends up in the Masuria region. There he meets Rose (starring Agata Kulesza) – a widow of a fallen Wehrmacht soldier who offers him a place to stay. Gradually some feelings between them start to grow. But is it possible for love between people from different front lines to survive in the postwar reality? Wojciech Smarzowski creates a nuanced picture of history without judgments and divisions. The film was appreciated during film festivals in Gdynia, Warsaw and Polish Film Academy Awards; it was also the most watched Polish film in 2011.
