During the first meeting we’ll take a closer look at science fiction convention and the condition of modern native cinema: on October 11th an eccentric film director – Bodo Kox – will visit New Horizons Cinema to talk to viewers about his latest film – the spectacular „The Man with the Magic Box”. Next, we’ll move on to the 70’s to find out whether „To Kill This Love” in order to Janusz Morgenstern’s film and then, we’ll meet a story of Polish-Masurian romance in „Rose” by Wojciech Smarzowski – one of the most important (and most controversial) modern Polish directors. We’ll also present Krzysztof Kieślowski’s masterpiece – „A Short Film About Love” starring Grażyna Szapołowska and Olaf Lubaszenko. We’ll close the season with a tremendous attraction for all the cinemaniacs: we’ll spend a December evening with „Farewells” by Wojciech Jerzy Has, one of the Polish melodrama classics. As always, the entire event will be in English so all the citizens of Wroclaw – no matter where they come from – have the opportunity to experience Polish culture, customs, history and the power of love. Special guests, among others, film directors, actors and actresses, film experts will guide the participants through the hottest Polish (or possibly universal?) feelings.
