Madly in love with each other, Magda (starring Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieślak) and Andrzej (starring Andrzej Marzec) enter adult life. From the beginning, they get disappointed with not getting into university. While searching for new options for the upcoming year, they face the brutality and temptations of the world trying to be modern. The film is based on the script by Janusz Głowacki and without any redundant moralizing, sets out the situation of young people in 60’s/ 70’s; it is a love drama and social satire. Somewhere out there are rockets being launched to the Moon. There are countdowns – three, two, one, zero… In love there’s also a time when you count down. The moment in which a space launch countdown reaches zero can be the beginning of a success. The counting down of the time of love ends with a zero – said the screenwriter. Martin Scorsese described „To Kill This Love” as one of the Polish cinematographic masterpieces. Our guest – Kornelia Sobczak (awarded with the Contest for Krzysztof Mętrak Prize) – will discuss the film, cinema and social ambitions of the 70’s.
