After three years of the “Class of…” series, Polish Cinema for Beginners returns to its original community and film club format! Built around shared experience and open discussions. This shift refocuses on what has always been at the heart of the project: watching films together and creating space for conversation among audiences from different backgrounds.
The first part of Polish Cinema for Beginners is not only a showcase of some of the most compelling trends in contemporary Polish cinema but also an invitation to engage in conversation. This season’s screenings will serve as a starting point for discussions on multicultural Poland, the changing social landscape, and the ways in which cinema reflects and interprets these transformations.
The programme revisits key traditions of Polish filmmaking while also highlighting stories about searching for one’s own path and pursuing talent in a world that is not always supportive. These are films about tensions between the individual and their surroundings, about ambition, limitation, and the possibility of overcoming both.
As always, each screening will be accompanied by discussions that open up space for multiple perspectives — from filmmakers, guests, and the audience alike.
